CariCOOS Sea State Point Forecasts
The map below provides virtual buoy data from the CariCOOS Nearshore Wave Model (red, yellow, green icons) and from the NOAA WW3 model (blue icons, source: http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/index2.shtml). Virtual buoy data should be interpreted within the context of the buoy location; for example, nearshore virtual buoys will already take into account wave refraction and shoaling, which will considerably change the wave direction and height when compared with offshore data. Please click on any icon to view the model prediction for that specific location.
